We Have To Be Better

Marcus L. Woods has experienced discrimination firsthand. At 17 years of age, he found himself incarcerated for what was to be nearly two decades for a crime he did not commit. While behind bars, Marcus laid down the groundwork for a program, Uniteee Youth Violence Prevention, with a mission to remove the options of Violence and Incarceration from young lives deemed high risk with programs tooled to empower the youth, focusing on understanding and respecting the realities surrounding them.  This foundation is what Marcus credits as keeping himself sane, believing in a better tomorrow, and the future of his organization Uniteee

My name is Marcus L. Woods. I’m 42, born on November 12th,1977…

If you haven’t been affected by Injustice within the current country in which you live from that point to now… I applaud you for being either privileged or lucky…
If you find any of my words to be offensive or you are one who has condemned (not offered your wisdom to) the young minds for rioting… Blame yourself as well for not being a part of your communities and teaching them different than “exposed” rage.

What you see is a display of a misinformed generation excelled by the fact they may have parents who were misinformed as well… How can you take a position on anyone before you address what has been proven to be a continuous problem?
There are many of you with these Nancy Grace hopes of being able to offer your legal opinion, but you fail to grasp both sides of the coin… True, it is not right to burn buildings … True, it is not right to loot… But how much more right is it for folks to be shot down like tranquilized animals? Or being choked out in the street in front of an audience that your assailant is aware of… And the people you thought were of your own blood would help keep you breathing… But they do nothing more than film to a free social media app intent on conforming to our constant oppression… Without second guess, the consistency of murdering people of color has been played out over and over as a tool of so-called proof.
There are those individuals whose ideology is… ” It’s been happening this long” or “it’ll never change”… Your nonbelieving in changing the current narrative is an answer to why it keeps happening…
In closing, I want to say this… If we are to truly be the difference… It must start with the mindset of educating each other rather than alienated concepts that extend to violence…
#thinkuniteee cause together we are the difference ✊?✊?✊?
