Whether you’re a dedicated fan or a newcomer to their music, witnessing The Dickies live is an absolute necessity for anyone yearning for an authentic connection and an immersive experience rooted in the raw essence of punk rock. Being one of the very first punk rock artists I ever photographed and had wrote about back in ’95, then it goes without saying when I heard The Dickies would be playing Saint Rocke with The Bourbon Saints, I knew I had to be there, camera in hand!
The atmosphere at Saint Rocke on Saturday night was electric as a multitude of fans eagerly converged within the venue. The evening started with an exhilarating performance from the four-piece band, Spider, whose solid sound resonated throughout the walls. Their tight musicianship and unwavering stage presence set the tone for an unforgettable night of live music.

An exhilarating onslaught of full-throttle rock’n’roll took place as The Bourbon Saints took the stage next. Since their inception in 2005, these rockers have captivated audiences with a blend of hard rock. Resonating with their fans and leaving their crowds mesmerized, lead singer Arturo Trujillo’s raw vocals and fiery charisma embody the angst and passion of a true rock and roll storyteller.
The chemistry among the band members was alive and strong, especially with the addition of bass guitarist Nic Nifoussi, who brought fresh and innovative talent to the mix. The set reached a crescendo as they unveiled a new song, “Open Casket.” Concluding their set with “Knives Out,” The Bourbon Saints left the audience craving more. The future holds limitless possibilities for this dynamic band of musicians.

After delivering a near 20-song set that showcased their enduring prowess, The Dickies saved a most powerful highlight for the grand finale: “Gigantor,”and the crowd was reminded once again why The Dickies are regarded as true pioneers of the punk rock genre. The echoes of their final chords lingered in the air, leaving an indelible mark on the audience’s collective memory. But the night was not over yet.
